Selecting Replace with Aftermarket

Highlight the part to be replaced in the database. Select the Replace button. After you select the operation, the program behaves differently depending on the operation you select, and whether or not your profile is set to automatically list available Aftermarket parts.

If estimating rules are set to automatically display, there is no need to select the A/M button. Aftermarket parts will automatically display if they are available.

Note: For you to select an aftermarket part, the Aftermarket database must be turned on for your unit.

If your profile is set to automatically list Aftermarket parts, and if an aftermarket part is available, selecting the Replace button opens the Aftermarket Database screen. Highlight the Aftermarket part you want to choose. You can then add the part to the estimate, with or without changes, or cancel the operation.

If your profile is set to manually list Aftermarket parts, you must manually open the Aftermarket database. To do this, press the A key or select the A/M button on the Operations toolbar.

To manually select an aftermarket part

  1. Open or create a workfile.
  2. Select the Estimate tab, and then select the Lines tab.
  3. Select the MOTOR tab, and then select a group, subgroup, and a part from the database panel.
  4. Select a group, subgroup, and a part from the database panel.
  5. Highlight the part, and press the A key, or select the A/M button on the Operations toolbar. The Select Aftermarket Part screen opens.
  6. Highlight the part you want, and then select Add to Estimate.

Note: Selecting an Aftermarket part for the estimate will insert it, not the OEM part, into the estimate. Aftermarket parts are marked with a double asterisk beside the estimate line.
